What to expect at your first massage.

Many people experience a sense of anxiety or nervousness before their first massage therapy visit, and this is completely normal. Trying something new—especially when it involves your body, touch, or unfamiliar surroundings—can naturally bring up questions or uncertainty.

It’s important to remember that a fear of the unknown is a very human response. Most first-time clients aren’t sure what will happen, how the session will feel, or what will be expected of them. These thoughts are common, and you’re certainly not alone in feeling this way.

Because of this, I go out of my way to create an environment that prioritises your comfort, safety, and ease from the very beginning. Everything from the initial conversation to how the session unfolds is designed to help you feel relaxed, supported, and well-informed.

Over my next few blog posts, I’ll be sharing some practical and helpful tips to guide you through the entire process, including:

Prepare yourself prior to the massage

  1. What to expect before your massage
  2. What to expect during your massage
  3. What to expect after the massage
  4. Massage after care

The goal is to remove as much uncertainty as possible, so you can arrive feeling confident and at ease.

Of course, I’m always happy to chat with you and answer any questions you may have—whether that’s before you book your appointment or before we begin the session itself. Open communication is encouraged, and there’s no such thing as a silly question.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your wellness journey.

Warm regards,

Gian Franco
